Try not to be deterred by the title of Battlefield 3’s Guillotine teaser trailer, as there are neither beheadings or teasing of beheadings. Instead, EA’s new video is 47-seconds of beautifully chaotic in-game footage which – come to think of it – may in fact cause fans to lose their head. Figuratively. We hope.

The trailer features a scene from Battlefield 3’s solo campaign in which players must enter the city of Tehran, Iran to extract top members of the PLR leadership in a mission called Operation Guillotine. The mission comprises just one ‘flashback’ in a series of globe-trotting combat scenarios recalled by the main character Sergeant Henry Blackburn on the eve of a devastating attack on New York.
