Watch Link wreak havoc in new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild videos

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (opens in new tab) will send Link’s mischievous streak spiralling completely out of control. Let’s be honest; for all the good that the perpetually reborn hero does, he sows equal quantities of chaos through broken pots, battered Cuccos, and stolen hotel reservations (that poor Goron in Majora’s Mask only wanted somewhere to sleep). Just imagine what Link will do once he gets a few magic-power-bestowing runes in Breath of the Wild.

Case in point are these new videos from the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account, showing Link learning to whip stuff around with his Magnesis power:

And then combining his abilities to bomb hapless bokoblins in inventive new ways:

And here’s Link beating skeletons with their own arms and starting brush fires, via Nintendo of America.

The big, climbable open world sounds nice, but wrecking up the place with physics-enabled boulders and bombs is really what I’m looking forward to. Nintendo still plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a launch title for Nintendo NX (opens in new tab) (and as a swan song for Wii U) in March 2017. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of the game at that rumored NX reveal event (opens in new tab) in September.
