Do you know your assassins? Knowledgeable in creeds? Ubisoft is in the process of assembling a comprehensive Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia, andis nowseeking a writer with solid grasp of AC lore and a more betterer sense of the English language to quarterback the project. Fear not starving authors, for this is a paying gig.
The open call wasposted to the UbiWorkshop website (opens in new tab), and appears to be an actual, honest-to-goodness employment opportunity, reading, “Make no mistake, this is a job offer, not some petty human crowdsourcing trick.”
Applicants are required to submit a resume and two sample entries concerning either a main character, secondary character, an aspect of the Animus Project or a historical event from within the AC timeline (one per category). There arealso ‘bonus points’ to be gained by comparing real historic events to their in-game interpretations (pro tip: Leonardo da Vinci never supplied flying machines to underground cults, nor did he give out man-hugs like they were candy… we think).
Writers situated close to Ubisoft’s Montreal office will have a leg up on the competition, but the studio is willing to explore work-from-home arrangements. It is also extending its offer to beginners and professionals alike, explaining, “We wouldn’t want to miss out on someone passionate and talented just because he or she doesn’t have a five-year experience.”
The deadline for submissions is unclear, but serious applicants would do well to clear their weekend and crack out the history books ASAP. Full application details are listed at theUbiWorkshop site.
