THQ and Random House partner to develop new IPs

“Working with the incredible team at Random House, we expect to build a huge IP universe from the ground up, exploring the characters, settings, and stories of these worlds in ways that let each medium do what it does best, and giving fans a truly unequaled experience,” said Lenny Brown, THQ’s Director, Creative and Business Development, Core Games in today’s announcement.

THQ recently dabbled in publishing with the release of its Homefront: The Voice of Freedom prequel novel. With Random House, it plans to augment its future games with similar products, as well as produce world bibles through Random House’s own IP development branch, Random House Worlds.

Books based on videogames aren’t known for setting the literary world on fire, but they can flesh out a game’s story, provide something new for fans, or at the very least balance a wobbly table. What THQproperties would you like to see between the covers?
