Oscars 2021 winners list in full

What a night – Chloé Zhao became the first woman of color to win Best Director, Glenn Close did “Da Butt” (opens in new tab), and Questlove wore crocs (opens in new tab). The competition was tough, and lots of the categories were too close to call, but this was undoubtedly Zhao’s night. As well as winning Best Director, her movie Nomadland won Best Picture and leading lady Frances McDormand won Best Actress, too.

It was a good night for The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, and Minari as well, with Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Kaluuya, and Youn Yuh-Jung all winning this year’s other acting awards. Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal, and Mank also came out on top with recognition for writing, sound, and cinematography, while Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom cleaned up in the costumes and makeup categories.

Meanwhile, in the world of animation, Pixar picked up another Academy Award thanks to Soul taking home Best Animated Feature. And that’s just the start of it – scroll down to read the full list of the Oscars 2021 winners.
