Christopher Nolan’s production for The Dark Knight Rises used a newspaper advert to thank Pittsburgh now that shooting there has finished.
The final scenes were shot in the city this past weekend and Nolan and the producers wanted to show their appreciation.
Don’t believe for a second that this marks the end of the spoiler videos though, as shoots in Los Angeles and New York are still to come.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette also reported that producers paid “tens of thousands of dollars” to remove two dozen leafy trees from Pittsburgh streets so scenes shot in August would look like they occurred in winter.
The original plan was to pluck the leaves from those trees but city officials worried that could have damaged them.
Replacements trees will be planted in the fall and the deal also included a $20,000 donation to the non-profit group Tree Pittsburgh.
