Christopher Lloyd reveals hes open to another Back To The Future sequel

Given Hollywood’s propensity for rebooting anything and everything that was even remotely popular back in the ‘80s, it’s a minor miracle that the Back To The Future franchise has remained unscathed for so long. And while there are no immediate plans to press the reset button, Christopher Lloyd has said he’d be keen on the idea of a sequel, provided all the old gang were back on board.

“I would love to do Doc again, no question,” said Lloyd in an interview with THR (opens in new tab). “It’s tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three. So it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back To The Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three. But it could be done, you never know.”

“I think regardless of the Parkinson’s, [Michael J. Fox] would probably jump on the role and he’d be great,” continues Lloyd. “I can’t see doing another sequel without him. I would certainly want Bob Zemeckis directing it, Bob Gale writing it and the other principals being involved.”
