Game of Thrones season 7 release date might have been leaked! NO-ONE PANIC

Do we finally have a release date for Game of Thrones season 7 (opens in new tab)? Up until now, the premiere has been scheduled for the ‘summer’ but, thanks to a possible IMDb leak, we might have an actual, honest-to-god air date for this season’s Westeros shenanigans.

Don’t celebrate just yet: the date is still a long time away (relatively speaking for Thrones fans, anyway). It’s 22 long, torturous weeks away. That’s June 25th if you don’t have a calendar handy.

Counsel&Heal (opens in new tab) noticed the release date on the show’s IMDb page (opens in new tab) and it certainly ties in with the expected later air date thanks to the show’s production running well into December and beyond.

The plot thickens if you look at Sky Atlantic’s lineup for 2017 (opens in new tab) promising a new ‘big drama’ every month. Time to get the detective hat on: They have Fortitude, Billions and Big Little Lies taking up each of the first three months. The remaining named shows are Guerilla (set for April), the Twin Peaks return (which will air in May) and… Game of Thrones. If Sky’s big hook is a new drama *every* month then surely Game of Thrones can be narrowed down to June at the very least… right?

Maisie Williams has recently talked about season 7’s “exciting” finale (opens in new tab) but I’d wager that most people are more excited about setting their sights on late June now that there’s been some (unofficial) rumblings about the Game of Thrones air date.

Game of Thrones season 7 will debut this summer (possibly June 25th – we’ll wait and see) on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the U.K.
