Game of Thrones could be adding Murder She Wrotes Angela Lansbury to its season 7 cast

The cameras are currently rolling on Game of Thrones season 7 (opens in new tab) – which will only have seven episodes as opposed to the usual ten – and the show is still adding to its star-studded cast. We recently learned that Jim Broadbent has signed on for a significant role in the upcoming season (opens in new tab), and now Bild (opens in new tab) is reporting that Angela Lansbury is in talks to join HBO’s flagship show.

According to the German news site, Lansbury – who is best known as the star of Murder, She Wrote and the voice of Mrs. Potts in animated classic Beauty and the Beast – will “play a guest role in two episodes” of season seven, and the actress will be on set for four days.

It sounds like Lansbury will only have an extended cameo here, but that doesn’t necessarily mean her character will survive the show. Lest we forget, Ian McShane only popped up for one episode last season and we all know how that turned out. It will be interesting to see which characters she interacts with on the show, and whether or not she’s playing someone who’s good, bad, or a little of both. For Westeros’ sake, here’s hoping it’s the former.

Season 7 of Game of Thrones will debut in summer 2017.
