The special 20th anniversary edition PlayStation 4 may be all but lost to the gods of time, space and exorbitant eBay prices, but even those of us stuck with Sony-standard black can have a taste of the ’90s with a 20th anniversary edition DualShock 4. Announced (opens in new tab) in June, the controllers are now available for pre-order on Amazon for $64.99 (opens in new tab), with a tentative release date of September 30 – 20 years to the month after the original PlayStation debuted in the US and UK.
Personally, I’m a big fan of putting the original PlayStation logo on the center button of the controller. Just looking at it brings back tons of memories, and I can almost hear the twinkling startup noise (opens in new tab). I bet the controller would go great with this PS4 decal (opens in new tab) that turns the console into something resembling an original PlayStation, too.
