The latest crop of backwards compatible games on Xbox One (opens in new tab) represents both ends of the vigilante spectrum, including the world’s greatest detective and a hyperkinetic rabbity thing. Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb confirmed on his Twitter account that four new 360 games became playable on Xbox One today:
Trials HD, Sam & Max, Alan Wake’s AN & LEGO Batman are now playable on your Xbox One via BC https://t.co/mJsI8miwCI pic.twitter.com/sSt0G6vsNzFebruary 11, 2016

If you’re not familiar, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space is the second season of Telltale Games’ episodic adventure revival for the freelance crimefighters; Trials HD kicked off the white-knuckle motocross platforming series on Xbox 360; Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a Twilight Zone styled spinoff that ties up some loose ends from the original game’s cliffhanger ending; and Lego Batman: The Video Game is like Batman but if everything was made out of Lego.
Microsoft also confirmed that Alan Wake will join the backwards compatible lineup (opens in new tab), and that every copy of Quantum Break (opens in new tab) (developer Remedy’s latest project) will include a digital copy of the nocturnal adventure. Expect more backwards compatible games to roll out intermittently now that Microsoft has decided against the monthly update format (opens in new tab).
