Summer movie season is only a couple months away, and while we’ve gotten trailers for nearly every blockbuster coming our way, we’re still waiting on some footage from Ghostbusters; the eagerly awaited franchise reboot from Paul Feig. Thankfully we won’t have to wait much longer, as the director confirmed via Twitter that the first trailer will be released later this month…
The official Ghostbusters site is up and running at https://t.co/ibTzv05prD. First full trailer coming around the end of this month. #ghostsFebruary 3, 2016

As Feig’s tweet states the official website for Ghostbusters (opens in new tab) has also come online, and while it doesn’t have any marketing materials we haven’t already seen, it does contain a few quotes from Ghostbusters alumni Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, praising the reboot.
There’s also a new description of the film; “Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. Director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today. Get ready to watch them save the world this summer!”
Starting a marketing campaign for a film of this size at this relatively late stage can have its advantages; for one thing, Sony should be under less pressure to unveil more footage, a mistake which they made twice when promoting The Amazing Spider-Man films. Here’s hoping we like what we do see when the trailer is unleashed this month.
Directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, Ghostbusters opens in UK and US cinemas on July 15, 2016.
